So somewhere in the last couple weeks our life has taken off at full speed and there hasn't been any extra time for blogging :-) I don't have any new pictures to post today but I will try to get some posted at some point this week.
So Ashleigh has started Middle School! They say that 6th graders can't participate in Drama but someone didn't tell my daughter that :-) Everyday there is something new and exciting going on in her life ... things I as a grown up couldn't even begin to understand! How is it that kids never think that their parents were kids too - it like we've always been old and un-cool and we couldn't possibly know what it's like to be a 6th grader :-)
Ashleigh's first day of school was August 13th so it only makes sense that Ashleigh would break her foot that night on the trampoline and miss the first week of school. This after she was black listed at open house for missing so much school last year and after sending not 1 letter, not 2 letters but 3 letters with a threatening tone to us regarding her needing to be in school not to mention the 3 pages of documents we had to sign at open house stating that we "promise" to send Ashleigh to school every day all yer long, etc ,etc. They actually used that word "promise" like we are 3 years old. GRRR this is such a sore spot for me because Ashleigh had perfect attendance in Kindergarten, 2nd grade & 3rd grade and only missed one or two days in 1st and 4th grade but in 5th grade when her brother went to daycare and brought home a whole world of germs she had several colds and a rough round of the flu and missed a lot of school. So the school system can't look at her overall attendance during the 6 years she went there but they have to focus on the last year she was there and then label her for the next 3 years! It's ridiculous and there isn't anything anyone of us can do about it.
On a lighter note - Adam now has 2 teeth, can crawl all over the place and is starting to pull up on things. Adam has no fear! Not just because he is a big kid (dang near 25 lbs) but he just doesn't have a care in the world. He started a new school too on the same day that Ash did and on Tuesday when I went to pick him up they asked if he knew how to walk ... I said "No - he is only 9 months old" and laughed ... the lady looked at him and whispered "Does he know that he can't walk?" She said that he pulled himself up on something and then just took off like he knew what he was doing towards another toy. She said they were surprised that he fell but he didn't seem to mind and when he got to the next object he did the same thing. It's kind of funny to watch him because when he takes off you would think he knew what he was doing and when he falls he doesn't seem to care. He's my laid back little bundle of boy and he is all boy! He makes noises I've never heard kids make and spits and all kinds of stuff Ashleigh never did. Ashleigh was a little lady from the gate and Adam ... well Adam is not Ashleigh and I'll just have to leave it at that :) Of course, we would be concerned if Adam was a little lady now wouldn't we :-)
Travis & I are getting ready for the twins. We've got the cribs (thanks Mom!) and today I think I have a good lead on a Triplet Stroller. Those things are harder to find an a Unicorn! I've been going to Consignment Sale after Consignment Sale - waiting in lines to be the first into the sale and still I can't seem to find a good deal on a Triplet Stroller. The two that I have found were close to $300 each and I can't see spending that much for something I won't even use that much so I posted a "Want Ad" on my Mother's of Multiples web site and someone emailed me today that they had one for sale so I am hoping that I can work something out with her and get that!
Well that's where we are at and where we have been! I'll try to keep up better with my blogging and get some pictures posted later this week!
